Dear White River,
I am excited to share the success of our students who recently participated in the Art Wars competition at Rapid City Central on February 22, 2025. Art Wars is an intense, in-the-moment competition where student artists from multiple schools compete in categories such as drawing, painting, digital, photography, and ceramics. Each participant creates a prompt-based work of art within a set time limit while receiving live critiques from a judge.
Three of our talented students—Samuel Beardt, Alana Moran, and Jovanna Dillon—represented White River in this event, each competing in two categories. We are thrilled to announce that Jovanna Dillon earned 3rd place in Ceramics, and Alana Moran achieved 1st place in Photography! Their outstanding performances have earned them the opportunity to compete in the final Art Wars event, which will take place at this year’s South Dakota State Art program.
Please join me in congratulating these students on their dedication and creativity. Their hard work and artistic talent have truly made White River proud!
